From our G Well Health & Wellness Provider
On a Clinical Note
I have been caring for patients since beginning my healthcare career as a registered nurse in 2008. I started my nursing career on a geriatric medical unit, where I developed a strong clinical foundation in caring for patients with complex medical conditions and chronic disease.
In 2011, I transitioned to emergency medicine, working in several adult emergency departments as well as at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. These diverse experiences gave me the opportunity to care for patients across the lifespan while developing expertise in evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care.
Driven by a passion for helping others improve their health, I earned my Master of Science in Nursing and became a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021. Since then, I have continued practicing in both emergency department and urgent care settings, treating a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Over the course of my career, I have witnessed a troubling trend—patients becoming increasingly ill from chronic diseases that are often preventable or can be significantly improved through healthy lifestyle changes. I have cared for countless individuals struggling with conditions that frequently require multiple medications simply to manage symptoms. While medications are often necessary and lifesaving, I have also seen many patients feel as though they have drifted further from the vibrant, healthy version of themselves they once knew. Watching so many people battle preventable illnesses has been emotionally exhausting at times and has inspired me to practice medicine differently.
Rather than waiting until disease develops, I want to help people stay healthy, restore their well-being, and improve their quality of life through prevention and sustainable lifestyle change. That vision became the foundation for G Well.
On a Personal Note
Health and wellness have become more than my profession—they are my passion because I've lived the journey myself.
I have been married to my husband, Phil, since 2010, and together we are raising our two wonderful daughters. Outside of work, I love staying active, spending time with my family and our two dogs, and expressing my creative side by taking pottery classes at our local community pottery studio.
Like many people, my relationship with health has not always been easy. Growing up in the 1990s, my diet consisted of many of the foods that were common at the time—boxed macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, fast food, and convenience meals. I struggled with my weight for much of my life, and after the birth of my first daughter, I gained nearly 60 pounds. Returning to work while trying to care for a new baby made me realize just how difficult creating healthy habits could be.
That experience became a turning point. Through consistent changes in nutrition and exercise, I lost more than 50 pounds and discovered that wellness is about much more than a number on the scale. As my fitness journey evolved, I shifted my focus from endless cardio to strength training, building not only physical strength but also confidence and resilience. Over the years, I've experimented with countless diets and fitness trends, always searching for the "perfect" approach. What I ultimately learned is that there is no perfect diet—only the approach that is realistic, sustainable, and fits your life.
After my second pregnancy, I again gained and then lost 50 pounds and continued to prioritize my health while balancing the demands of raising two young children and completing my master's degree. Those experiences taught me that lasting change doesn't come from perfection—it comes from consistency, flexibility, and giving yourself grace along the way.
Today, my focus is on longevity, strength, and sustainable wellness rather than quick fixes. I understand firsthand how challenging lifestyle change can be, but I also know how life-changing the rewards can be. My goal is to help others feel their best by providing the knowledge, support, accountability, and individualized care they need to create healthier habits that last a lifetime.
